Picking up the right saddle for your horse is about making the match of what is the most comfortable seat for you and the right fit for your horse. The saddle should fit the horse and be firm in place on the shoulders, across the withers without digging in to the back. Equally, the saddle should be a good size for you without being too large or small. When fitting your saddle, it’s also important to remember the rest of the horse tack, or equipment. This could be any other accessory attached to the animal for riding, like stirrups, bridles, reins or bits. Take care to ensure you have the correct size and type that your horse is comfortable with.
