What is Pilates?

The Pilates method is a gentle method which consists of performing exercises based on the thoracic breathing specific to Gym Pilates. The goal is to take deep breaths during each movement in order to work and strengthen our deep muscles (abdominal belt, back muscles ...) What is Pilates Breathing?
Breathing in Gym Pilates is chest breathing , it is an essential point for the practice of sport. You take deep breaths through your nose, the lungs fill with air and the rib cage inflates and opens as much as possible, then you breathe out for a long time through your mouth. The breaths are carried out while keeping the abdominal belt contracted, the bust and the pelvis are stabilized during the exercises.
