Read previous reviews which were not inspiring but thought it would be ok for the price. Quick and easy to fit, well made with good display.
However, it wouldn't come on the third time went out for a cycle, checked battery voltage as previous reviews said it quickly drained the battery but it was ok. Returned to store and used an older, wired, bike computer I had from an older bike.
cheap, accurate and reliable. Buy in confidence.
To be honest only used once last min, farely simple to set up and done the job
Using on the rear wheel on my bike on the turbo trainer and it works OK on there. The instructions that come with the item are pretty awful. They make flat pack furniture construction diagrams seem like a piece of cake. Most annoying is that when you switch it on the speed indicator just flashes 0.0 continuously until you've fiddled around through the displays a few times. The display isn't really bright or clear enough and the backlight really isn't powerful enough to make the display much clearer. On the plus side it is reasonably cheap and is one of the few non wired ones that will work from the rear wheel, which is what I needed for the turbo trainer.
Not impressed as I find the wheel mount just very difficult to attach and had to use an additional rubber strap. I much prefer devices that attach to the spokes and forks. This is clearly for the European market as it will only records in Km whereas most offer you the option for Mph. The instructions are just aweful and I just don’t understand why there is not a clear seperate write up in each language, but it’s typical of a product made in China. Have now disgarded it.
Had this for about a year and until recently it has been very good value for money and I would have rated it 5 stars a month or so ago (general review below).
Unfortunately recently it has developed a fault where it switches off after around 20 minutes, or refuses to turn on at all. The only way to resolve this is to hold the power button down for 3 seconds to force a reset and then it will turn on and work for another 20 minutes.
I have tried multiple new batteries and even tested the voltage output to make sure the batteries are not defective so it seems like an issue with the cyclometer itself.
GENERAL REVIEW
The battery life has been very impressive with the display unit doing around 3000 km before needing a new battery and the wheel mounted sensor doing nearly 4000 km.
I have seen many people have complained about the release mechanism from the handle bar mount, and while I agree that it was stiff to begin with it loosened up after a few weeks of clipping it in and out at the end of my daily commute.
The wheel sensor is easy to attach with a rubber band that wraps around the central hub of the front wheel, and the device is easy to pair only requiring you to select pair in the main menu and spin the front wheel until it starts showing a speed.
It allows you to select a wheel size e.g. 700-23 in the settings rather than having to measure the exact circumference of the wheel like other similarly priced cyclometers I have used in the past, and while this may be a little less accurate it still gives a very close indication of speed (normally accurate or only 1kmph out to road speed warning signs.)
Overall I would recommend this product for the price as i suspect the fault I have is not one that is due to a design error or poor manufacturing but just bad luck, however I am disappointed that it has only lasted 12 months in this instance.
Not bothered about the mount as using this for a bike trainer. But I can’t even pair the wireless part to the device. Any tips?!?? Instructions are near on useless! Help?!
Overall, its a fine cyclometer at this price. HOWEVER, there is a fatal flaws that you can’t set the total distance manually.
Just read the latest comment and totally agree - it is a perfect tool but not fit for purpose
Impossible to remove from its mount, you have to apply extreme force
We fit it on our son's bike for his birthday and got rid of the package far too fast
Now he can't remove it without taking the whole mount off,
and we can't return it because we don't have the full package
Complete waste of money
I wish I read the reviews before purchasing as I probably would have purchased a different computer. My riding is off-road and the hub remote sensor is a great design and is not affected by impact from twigs and stones. However, the mount is not fit for purpose; and I finally lost the computer on my last ride. It really should be withdrawn from sale.
