TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Thermal insulation

This padded jacket, when worn as a 3rd layer, has a temperature rating of 0°C that was certified during a standardised test in a thermal chamber.
The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind.
In our heat comparison tool, this is equivalent to 1 star.

We also tested this model under "static" conditions; its temperature rating is +10°C in this case.

Technical information on the wadding

We use a 100% polyester wadding (90% recycled): 100 g/sqm in the body and 60 g/sqm in the sleeves.

Do you know why the inner lining of your padded jacket is grey?

Because the fabric we use reduces CO2 emissions by 40%.
The fabric used is innovative because it mixes a self-dyed black thread and an undyed thread.
Compared to a conventional dyeing process, this process also reduces by:
- 66% fine particle emissions (PM2.5)
- 74% Eutrophication of fresh water
- 68% eutrophication of sea water

Our advice in the event of rain

The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. This means that drops of water roll off the fabric preventing them from soaking into the padded jacket as quickly, giving you time to find some shelter. But the padded jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the padded jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.

Water repellent properties of the component (not to be confused with waterproofing)

The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it.
This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and warm.

The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.

We recommend that you renew after each wash

The benefits of synthetic wadding

The wadding is an effective alternative to feathers:
- It has good thermal insulation, even when wet
- It provides some breathability and is suitable for dynamic physical activities (given that feathers are recommended for static activities)
- It is easy care: machine wash at 30°C and tumble dry

A score for comparing products' environmental impact

A lightweight jacket that's great value for money
Tim (United Kingdom) Used for 1 week or less
Brought this as a 2nd or 3rd layer and was surprised how warm this is under my waterproof jacket. Perfect for those cooler autumn nights when worn as a 2nd or 3rd layer. My own little quibble as that I'm a small it was a little on the tight side and the arms were little long for a medium , but for the price - hey what's not to love? Especially how really good value for money this jacket is!
