Water repellency
A quality achieved by applying a hydrophobic, water-repellent treatment to the fabric. This process prevents water from sticking to the fabric's surface, thus limiting the latter's ability to absorb water. When movement is added to the equation, water runs off the fabric. This is what is meant by water-repellent. Thanks to its water-repellent properties, water does not soak into the outer fabric. The trousers remain light and dry more quickly.
Windproof
Wind protection is very important because of significant chill effect that wind can have on body, whether you are active/at rest. According to "windchill" model, which measures how air temperature feels when factoring in wind & cold: at a temperature of 5°C combined with winds of 30km/h, the perceived temperature will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C & wind speed is 30km/h, the perceived temperature will be -6°C. Materials used in our products help to counter the chilling effects of wind
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
Décathlon is the first French company to have introduced environmental rating. This rating has been developed with ADEME (Environment and Energy Management Agency) as well as other French companies. It allows products’ environmental impact to be assessed using a scale from A to E, A being the best score.
