TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

What level of warmth does this down jacket provide?

This down jacket, when worn as a 3rd layer, has a temperature rating of -10°C that was certified during a standardised test in a thermal chamber.
The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind.

We also tested this model under "static" conditions; its temperature rating is 0°C in this case.

The advantages of a duck down and feather filling

The fill power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports:
- Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers
- Ultra low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack
- Ultra-compressible

How to measure the fill power of a down and feather filling?

The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. It is expressed in CUIN.
Consequently, the higher the fill power (i.e. the higher the CUIN number), the more space it occupies and the more air it traps thereby delivering more thermal insulation.

This 85% down / 15% feather down jacket has a guaranteed fill power equal or above 660 CUIN (European standard).

* What is RDS certification?

Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering.
We have been awarded the RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certificate by a third-party organisation.

How to maintain a jacket filled with down and feathers?

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking the link below:
https://www.forclaz.co.uk/advice-alias/how-should-i-look-after-my-down-jacket-tp_2579

In brief:
1/ machine wash, 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle.
2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.

In case of rain

The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. This means that drops of water roll off the fabric preventing them from soaking into the down jacket as quickly, giving you time to find some shelter. But the down jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the down jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

Follow the guide:

We recommend that you use the dip-coating care product

It enables you to optimise the performance of your clothing throughout its lifespan.

Perfect
Richard (United Kingdom) Used for 1 week or less
For the price this seemed too good to be true but again, for the price I wasn't going to say no. It turns out this jacket is not only well made but a perfect fit, with no gaps for wind to get in. It appears thin but that is the deception of a down jacket, this really does keep you warm, and it packs down to almost nothing with the handy bag supplied. About to order another one and the hooded version. Get this before Decathlon realise what they are selling and jack the price up!

Fantastic warm jacket. It's like wearing a duvet outside. Comfortable with a rucksack on as well. I would highly recommend this.

Absolutely over the moon with this jacket
Mostly good. Shell fabric prone to wearing away.
Simon (United Kingdom) Used for More than 1 year
You get a lot for your money with this jacket. As a medium warmth UK winter jacket, It's great in many ways. The downside is that the shell fabric tends to wear away in places where it rubs against itself - so there are now holes on the sleeves / wrist area. Also on the waist cord area. Through these holes down/feather fill is lost. I've had other down jackets that didn't do this. Now after 2 years I'm in the process of looking for a new jacket. If the shell fabric was better I'd give this 5/5.
got faults shame
