We recommend that you take out and unroll your mattress as soon as you start setting up camp. Leave the valve open to enable its pre-inflation. A self-inflating mattress will self-inflate to about 80% of its capacity. At this point, inflate by mouth in order to adjust the pressure to your desired comfort level.
I have had always used 10cm self inflating mattresses. Because I thought, the thicker they are, the more comfortable they will be.
Not true. Not only are they bulky to store and pack, but always seem to deflate.
These beds fit their base perfectly. So it's a great match. So easy to set up, and break down. Half the time, and half the space taken up.
I over inflated the bed, making it too hard for me, but each to their own. Even when I released some air in the bed, I could not feel the slats underneath.
And the bag more than enough space. And on a draw string to make it more compact.
Highly recommend this bed. And when using it as a double, bigger surface space than other double beds.
Comfy air bed alternative
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Firstly - for anyone concerned about getting it back in the bag my bag had an expandable section (perhaps they listened to feedback) so it was easy to pack away. Secondly - I just spent 11 nights camping on it in three locations and have nothing bad to say. I couldn’t feel any lumps or bumps beneath the mat, it’s compact so your tent isn’t being dominated by bed and it was cushioned enough that I slept well each night. Don’t expect an air bed feel but do expect to be comfortable enough. Am really tempted to buy the base... mostly to see if it was possible to actually make it better!
Jestem bardzo zadowolona łatwo się pompuje wygodnie śpi i nie jest zimno od ziemi,używany pod namiotami późną wiosną
So comfortable - great buy
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I slept on this for 3.5 weeks when I was working at a festival - I slept like a baby! It's a great size, really comfortable and leaves a small tent with enough space to actually live in, unlike inflatable mattresses. The only problem is getting it back in the bag! It's a two man job, but dooable! :)
Love this so much!
Used for 7 to 12 months
I use this mattress on top of my Quechua basic camp bed and they are the dream team!
When I go camping we will camp for 10 days twice a year so, it can be a lot when you're out in the British weather and the last thing you want to do when you're ready to go to sleep is have to blow up an air mattress. Paired with the camp bed it is so comfortable to sleep on a night and way better than an air mattress. I tend to blow up the mattress myself because it can take some time to inflate itself but it only takes about 3 minutes to blow up by using your mouth.
You're also actually able to get it back into the bag it came from as well! If you follow the fold lines and sit on the mattress when rolling it back up it will easily fit back into the bag.
