A serious design failing
Used for 3 to 6 months
I was initially quite pleased with these lights , light, portable, sufficiently bright when cycling on well lit city streets and sufficient battery life for my purposes. But when I had to rely on the front light cycling on a dark country road I realised the rather dangerous flaw in the front light, the plastic bezel is not shielded from above the light and lights up quite intensively, this is in your eye's view continuously when cycling which severely compromises your night vision, the light itself is relatively dim and so to use it for keeping track of the edge of the road without street lighting you need good night vision which is compromised by this bleeding of bright light directly to your eyes from the unshielded bezel. This is quite a serious flaw and unnecessary in the products design. A running fix is easily managed with a strip of electrical tape, but this should not be necessary.
Response of the brand
Dear Sir,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review of these lights. These lights are indeed more in the "to be seen" category rather than the "to see with" category. For urban use they are great but for unlit roads, they are not powerful enough. Generally speaking you need to aim for more than 200 lumen for riding in darker conditions. I agree that the light can be unnerving and I will forward this on to the team at Decathlon cycles.

Lights won't hold charge, shockingly bad component
Used for More than 2 years
Bought the lights, worked fine for the first 6 months. I then had to go away for a year an a half because of work. On return, nearly 2 years after purchase and on;y 6 months of actual use, the lights won't hold charge. They will only power when connected to mains, not quite the purpose they were purchased for.

I am extremely disappointed after paying around £20 for them. It is shocking how poor quality components they have inside if they die simply for not using them. I see that you provide a 2 year life warranty, which means these lights are out of it. I really can't recommend this or any product from this brand as I imagine the same happens with all their products.

Are you trying to force recurring revenue by forcing people to buy bike lights every 2 years? Shameful.
Response of the brand
Dear sir,
I have just replied directly to you.
I would like to confirm that we will replace the item under warranty and that we do not seek out at any point to make our items become faulty after 2 years.
