Active, low-impact sports bra
This sports bra is suitable for low-impact fitness activities (thighs, abs and glute workouts, yoga, gym etc.). Designed for smaller busts. Pads only attached at the bottom of the bra, easy to replace after washing. The lining is snag resistant: a notch can be made to take out the pads without damaging the product.
Why wear a sports base layer?
During your workout, your bust is put through more stress and impacts than during your daily activities. Your breasts can weigh 3 to 5 times more than their initial weight, depending on the level of intensity of your workout and the impacts. However, 59% of women use a regular bra which doesn't provide proper support when they workout (http://bjsm.bmj.com/content/42/8/670.short). A sports bra limits the movement of the bust and therefore the impacts on your breasts.
Whatever your bust size, movements and impacts stretch the skin and ligaments, and without proper support, you may experience pain and your breasts may sag prematurely. And yet, too much support can also be detrimental in the long term: it must be perfectly suited to your size and to the intensity of the impacts. The goal is to protect your bust without modifying the natural movement of the breast.
How are DOMYOS sports base layers designed?
Our models are designed to optimise comfort and prevent health problems: * we do not use underwiring (risk of injury and compression of the lymph nodes) * we minimise seams at the nipple (to prevent chafing) * we prefer using components that allow perspiration wicking (not only does this criteria improve comfort, it also lowers the risk of chafing).
How are DOMYOS base layers tested?
All our products are validated in our laboratories and undergo a bust support test (measuring the reduction in the acceleration of the bust during exercise) They are evaluated and given a rating between 1 and 5. Our sports bras guarantee a reduction in the acceleration of your breasts by a minimum of 10% (level 1) to over 50% (level 5). Models with a level 1 rating are designed for low-impact activities, level 3 for medium-impact activities, and level 5 for high-impact activities.
What kind of support should you choose for your type of activity?
You will find the model with the right support for your type of workout: low (walking, Yoga, Pilates, stretching...), medium (gymnastics, dancing ...) , or high-impact (trampoline, step, cardio training ...). We highly suggest you match your level of support with your type of activity: for example, do not wear a high-impact bra if it isn't necessary (wearing a bra that follows your breasts' natural movements is always the best protection)
Choosing the right size
The right size guarantees support and comfort. 70% of women wear the wrong size bra: http://www.port.ac.uk/department-of-sport-and-exercise-science/research/breast-health/. So, you must: * measure the circumference directly under your bust * measure the circumference over your bust You will find the conversion chart in DECATHLON'S size guide: http://www.decathlon.fr/guide-des-tailles.html#femme
