How to measure tyre wear
To measure the wear on your road tyres and to know when they need replacing, you need to inspect the tread. Signs of wear include: - tread starting to fray - the appearance of a series of micro cracks - low tread depth - the carcass becomes visible. In all these cases the tyre is worn and needs replacing.
How to remove a tyre
To remove your tyre, you need to deflate the inner tube until no more air comes out. Once deflated, use a tyre lever to remove the tyre from the rim.
How to fit a tyre
To put the tyre back on, place one side of the tyre into the bottom of the rim. Next, inflate your inner tube to approximately 30% before putting it into the tyre (inflating it beforehand reduces the risk of pinching the inner tube). Then, place the other side of the tyre into the rim, starting on the side opposite the valve. Before inflating the inner tube all the way, check to make sure it isn't pinched between the tyre and the rim.
How to inflate your tyre correctly
Inflate your tyre with caution. The recommended pressure is indicated on the tyre's sidewall and its product sheet (available online). Before each outing, make sure that your tyres are at the correct pressure for your ride.
Tip from the pros
When inflating your tyre, make sure you inflate it to the suitable pressure for the terrain you will be riding on and, above all, the weather conditions you will be riding in. When riding in rainy weather, lower the tyre pressure to increase the tyre's traction. On the other hand, when riding in dry weather, increase the pressure for better performance.

Resist 9 tyres
Used for 1 week or less
Seem ok. Descent rolling resistance and seem durable for the terrible Sheffield cycle lanes
Life expectancy of this tyre is 4 months!!!
Used for 7 to 12 months
I returned my Resist 9 tyre to the Wandsworth store after the sidewall ripped after approx. 11 months use.

Roberto (Senior Mechanic at Wandsworth Decathlon) informed me “the changes in humidity in London” affect the materials in this tyre to the extent that its effective lifespan is on average 4 months. He pointed out my tyre was cracked along the sidewall which he stated was evidence of wear and tear due to atmospheric conditions.

The description of the Resist 9 on Decathlon’s website states the product is extensively tested for “resistance to wear” and “longevity”. I have been cycling for quite a few years and have never experienced a tyre wear out in this way at this rate. (I use my bike to commute on 3 – 4 days per week. The tyres are always inflated to the appropriate pressure and the bike is stored indoors at home.)

The Resist 9 is supposed to come with a 2-year guarantee. The refusal to honour that guarantee by a Senior Mechanic at Decathlon as he wouldn’t expect the tyre to last more than 4 months (presumably in most of NW Europe), in my view, completely undermines the comments made in the “Our Commitments” section of the web page.

Notwithstanding the puncture resistance on the tyre which was quite good, based on my (and Roberto’s) experience I would not purchase this poor-quality product.
Response of the brand
Hello. Thank you for making us aware of the issues you have experienced with this tyre and the subsequent service in store. I have contacted the Wandsworth store to get in touch and to honour the two year guarantee as advertised. I hope we can find a prompt and appropriate solution for you to get back on the bike.

Four blow outs
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Had replaced older tyres on bike and bought a spare after first blow out ( side wall) I made mistake and bought same tyre again. Lose another to a side wall blowout (side wall again). Third tyre just went and that was most recent one and was another blowout but was at the tread of main bead ( when going to fix I noticed it was coming away at mor than one place. Poor quality but I must say never had proper puncture.
Response of the brand
Hello there. Thank you for the feedback on the tyre. Very strange and frustrating I can imagine to suffer so many blow outs in quick succession. Your review has be fed back to the tyre production team to look at.  In the meantime if you are able to return the tyres to the team in Braehead, firstly for your refund or exchange,  but also it would be very helpful for us to inspect them in more detail to see where the fault is coming from. Many thanks.

good traction

economical pricing
Sidewalls cracked/splitting
Used for 3 to 6 months
Got these to put on my commuter bike, previously had continental and schwable. These are cheap and have good levels of grip, not fast rolling but not slow either, not much feedback but for a 5 mile commute not a bad tyre. I was sold on the puncher protection aspect and so far no flats which is a plus. But my main issue is the sidewalls on both tyres are badly cracked and splitting after about 6 months use. It's only a matter of time before the sidewalls fail so will require changing soon even though the actual tread hasn't worn much. Think I will return to a premium brand.
Response of the brand
I'm sorry to read that the sidewalls show signs of wear. There are three possible reasons for this. 1) Poorly stored tyres post production or 2) tyres left un-inflated for a period of time 3) continuous exposure to UV light (leaving your bike outside all of the time). As you are a regular cyclist I doubt very much that the latter two reasons are the cause of your issues. If you feel that they are faulty, please feel free to return them to us for an exchange for a different tyre.

A bit lumpy and not long lasting
Used for More than 1 year
Compared with other brand names, this is a very good priced puncture-resistant tyre. However, from the start, I noticed that it felt a little lumpy when I used it on the rear wheel. Not a major problem, but I was disappointed when it exploded with a very loud bang last week due to internal de-lamination. It was 19 months old and had done 1700 miles. This is much less than I have come to expect from a tyre.
Not what I expected
I went for these tyres after I had 5 punctures on my back tyre, first ride after I installed these I got another puncture so I’m disappointed to be honest
