Additional recommended products
Care products: spray or liquid water-repellent treatment for the washing machine. To restore the water repellent properties of the fabric and optimise the performance of the garment throughout its lifetime. We recommend using these products with each wash.
8
How is the temperature rating measured
Thermally neutral ambient temperature: the user feels neither hot nor cold. Temperature rating in accordance with the ISO 11079 standard, under the following conditions: Walking at 5 km/h with no wind and sunshine. Jacket worn together with: upper body: long-sleeved T-shirt + shirt + sleeveless down gilet / lower body: tights + fleece base layer + trousers / head: fur hat + hood / hands: under-gloves + gloves / feet: ski socks + après-ski boots.
9
Component waterproofing
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with a 2000 mm rating can withstand the pressure of a 2000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting two hour).
10
Waterproofing of the garment
Technologies: this garment has been shower-tested using 60 L/sqm/hr of water for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
11
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9
12
Water repellent property of the component
A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water, keeping it lightweight and warm. The fabric is made water repellent by treating its outer surface. This treatment must be restored throughout the garment's lifetime (after every wash). We sell products for this purpose in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment.

A score to compare the environmental impact of the products
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall rating from A to E is given to help you identify the more eco-friendly products by comparing product of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products. Test Product
To help you dress effectively, Quechua - in partnership with Stratermic and Oxylane Research - provides temperature ratings for its "extreme cold" product lines. Tests are carried out in an environmental chamber to measure the thermal insulating properties of the products on a mannequin. These results are complemented by physiological studies carried out by the Oxylane Research teams to calculate the perceived hot/cold that would be felt in real-life use.

Stockage Tips
Store in a dry, ventilated place.

Maintenance Tips
Avoid frequent washing. Wash at 30°C with a small amount of washing product. Do not use fabric softener. Put 2 tennis balls in the machine during the wash cycle to restore the loft of the down. Rinse twice. Tumble dry on a synthetic programme with 2 tennis balls. Regularly restore the water repellent properties with a suitable treatment (after each wash). All our Decathlon stores offer a complete range of products designed specifically for treating waterproof fabrics

Excellent Jacket
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
My husband needed a jacket that would keep him really warm plus be practical and durable. This jacket is just the job. In the recent very cold snap, this has kept him lovely and warm. Extremely good value for money.
Only downside is it it can be too warm
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Great coat which will definitely keep you warm the only downside is if you are walking for some distance in it that it becomes too warm and very sweaty however, love all the features and feels great on. Would highly recommend if looking for a warm winter Parker without breaking the bank.
Great jacket at a great price.
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Great coat worth every penny, best jacket I have owned for warmth and style. Compared to other leading brands this is certainly at or above their quality at a fraction of the price.
Great jacket. Best for standing still, a bit heavy
Used for 1 week or less
It's super warm. Good for standing still, but is rather heavy for hiking. Have used it in -12C but only a dry climate. If the quilting is completely waterproof then it shouldn't be affected by humidity - but can't test this. Would like to know what the fill power is, i.e. the CUIN rating. I'm guessing it is about 500-600.
