I wanted the perfect bar for my house, this was just the right size for my requirements and space. I would like to add that the website stated that this bar is 28mm which is NOT standard UK size. I was unaffected by this as i have purchased a complete decathlon home kit but some people may be unaware so please see the following information: A standard UK collar is approximately 24.7mm (1inch) and olympic collar sizes are approximately 50mm (2inch). (I hope this is helpful).

The bar is well made and very strong. A maximum of 100kg weight suits me fine as that is often my preferred limit at home. I wish i bought it sooner!

Standard bars or discs are 25mm roughly.
Decathlon has 28mm as their ‘standard’ which is not U.K. fitness norm.

Please be aware this product will not fit any other weight discs other than Decathlon branded weights. If you want or intend to have a complete Decathlon branded set then this is a great product otherwise get another bar of 25mm industry standard which allows you to mix up weights from different brands.

I bought this along with a collection of the corresponding weight plates, and was initially impressed with what I got for the money. However having used this bar for around six weeks the chrome is flaking off and I am now getting shards of metal in my hand when I use it. I have been treating it well and storing it appropriately, research has now shown that this is often a problem with cheap bars. After finishing my workout today with my hand bleeding from a large metal splinter, I won't be using it again. Sadly the weight plates are probably now useless as they are a different size to other bars, so only compatible with this cheap and dangerous bar. Lesson learned, don't buy cheap.
